NICKELODEON'S NATHALIA RAMOS IN DA HOUSE!

1. How would you describe your clothing style?
It depends on the day. I like to be girly but with an edge. I’ll wear a lace dress with a leather jacket or combat boots.

2. In the show House of Anubis your character, Nina Martin, wears a school uniform. Have you worn one prior to filming the show?
I’ve never worn a uniform before. It was so exciting to wear a blazer and knee high socks. I still don’t know how to tie a necktie. I had to have the boys tie it for me.

3. What has been your favorite acting role thus far?
Everyone is so different and you learn from everyone. Right now I’m just working on Nina. Working on the House of Anubis was the first time I’d been away from home since it was filmed in England.

4. Have you picked up an English accent after being around a cast that is always speaking it?
No. I still haven’t perfected it. I say some English phrases. During the play scene it was pretty embarrassing to speak in an English accent in front of a room of people who all speak in a British accent.

5. What do you do on your sets downtime?
On set there’s never a dull moment. I was actually learning Vietnamese from Rosetta Stone. It’s so random but I love it. I felt accomplished that I could teach myself another language. In June I’m going to Vietnam. In college I’m majoring in Political Science and focusing on Asian Politics.

6. What has been your most memorable fan experience?
I got a piece of fan mail that told me I shouldn’t eat at Yoshinoya because I would get sick. It was kind of random. When I was on the Today Show someone gave me their phone number. Overall everyone’s been really nice.

7. What has been your favorite secret from the House of Anubis?
I loved looking for the Eye of Horus. I was cool to have the power to open doors with my locket.

8. What was your favorite quote from the House of Anubis?
We’d make fun of how Patricia always says, “Joy or Where’s Joy”. It was funny to speak in a British accent.

9. If you were to join the Sibuna club, which one of your prized possessions would you throw into the fire?
My bear Cuddly. I’ve had him my entire life. I don’t think I could actually throw him in the fire.

10. In the final episode the school has a prom. What did you think of the dress you got to wear?
At first I didn’t like it because it wasn’t my style but then I realized that it was very Nina. It was also too small for me. I would unzip it between takes and right before we’d film again yell for Ana Mulvoy Ten, who plays Amber, to zip me back up. The shoes made my feet hurt and gave me blisters because I had to do a lot of running.

11. How did you get involved with Milk and Bookies?
I started the charity the Bash (bashofallbashes.com) with my friend Bobo. We collaborated with Milk and Bookies today to donate books to a hospital in San Francisco. Anything for the Bash. It’s like my baby.

12. What was your favorite book as a child?
Charlotte’s Web. I would read it over and over again. I also cried every time I would read it.

13. Are you involved with any other charities?
I do work with other charities but the Bash is my charity so my energy goes there. Two years ago we held our first one at the Crustacean. We were able to raise one hundred and fifty thousand dollars. We’re holding the next one on May 14th. It’s going to be bigger than the last one.

14. What advice would you give to someone who wants to pursue acting?
It’s a lot of work. You have to stay motivated and dedicated. I think the thing I want to stress the most to my fans is that you can do everything you want. I want to inspire kids to both follow their dreams and stay in school at the same time.

15. What is next for Nathalia Ramos?
I just finished school the day before yesterday so I will hopefully be filming for season two of the House of Anubis. I will be acting and doing schoolwork and see where it takes me.
