Vienne Milano Knee High Socks

I received socks from Vienne Milano in order to facilitate this review. All opinions are my own. I may collect a share of sales from the links on this page if you decide to shop from them.

As a big fan of wearing knee high socks, as a fun accessory to make my outfits stylish, I was delighted to receive a pair of the forest green Silvia opaque knee high socks from Vienne Milano. Since I do a lot of walking, I like my socks to be extra comfortable and easy to wear. They seemed to be non-slip as they did not need me to keep pulling them up or adjust them like some of my other socks, that tend to get loose around my shins.

The socks were also quite comfortable and soft to the touch on my foot as they did not make my feet hurt or develop a blister, which can happen if the fabric is too rough or causes friction. Please note that the fabric is quite delicate. I was super careful to not snag it with a sharp fingernail when putting on the socks. They are more opaque than the typical trouser nylon stocking. These socks may appear more sheer than woolen ones, but they are definitely more opaque than the typical nylon stocking worn under trousers. So, they are really a true sock and not a panty hose style. I really like how vibrant the green color of these socks. It is the perfect pop of color that gives my outfit pizzazz, taking my wardrobe from bland to bold. Overall, I feel it is a fair price for the quality of these socks, which is excellent given the delicate nature of the nylon and spandex fabric's tendency to rip if it snags on something sharp such as your fingernail.

TASTE TESTING NIAGARA CHOCOLATE'S DECADENT VARIETIES

Disclosure: I received Niagara chocolates from Tryazon in order to facilitate this review. All opinions are my own. I may collect a share of sales from the links on this page if you decide to shop from them.

Whenever I feel for a sweet treat, I usually chose something chocolate flavored. Hence, I was delighted to taste test a wide variety of Niagara Chocolates. Overall, I found these chocolates have a similar rich creamy flavor of Cadbury Milk Chocolate Buttons.

The milk and dark chocolate bars taste like what I expect from a higher quality standard plain chocolate bar. If you are a person who does not like dark chocolate, then this one would be a great one to try as it is not bitter like most I have tasted. The salted almond clusters and bar taste even better than the plain dark chocolate, as the nuts with salt gives it a delicious combination of sweet and just a hint of saltiness, while adding a crunchy texture. On the other hand, the sea salt caramel cups has a more distinct salty kick to it, which made it the perfect dual salt and sweet combo. The salt being a more apparent in flavor made it really tasty and enjoyable to savor the chocolate cup one bite at a time.

The roasted peanut clusters were generously packed with peanuts. The peanut butter cups and the peanut butter bar are two more peanut based chocolate candies that I sampled. I preferred the bar version because the texture of the chocolate was softer, which made it a more a melt in your mouth experience.

The toasted coconut clusters reminded me of a biscuit less Japanese Pocky snack, which is a basically a biscuit often dipped in chocolate. The almond toffee bar was one of my favorites, since I really like toffee. A close second is the chocolate lovers cups as it had the most interesting flavor combination to me: a milk chocolate cup containing a smooth dark chocolate center.

Overall, I really like the taste of these decadent chocolates. Obviously they are quite rich and sweet that a little goes a long way. So it's really just for times when you feel for a sweet treat to pop in your mouth. Perhaps, after a meal because you are too full to eat a big dessert or you need a sugary sweet  to give you a burst of energy on a study or work break. One or two pieces broken off the chocolate bar or a couple of the chocolate cups seems about the right portion. Anymore and I get a big sugar rush. In that case, I really appreciate the re-sealable bags. That way,  I can grab a couple for a yummy snack and reseal the bag to keep the chocolates fresh for later.

Ript Apparel T-shirts

Disclosure: I received t-shirts from Ript Apparel in order to facilitate this post. All opinions are my own. I may collect a share of sales from the links on this page if you decide to shop from them.

As a Ript Reaper brand ambassador for Ript Apparel who loves pop culture and fashion, I've been busy having a good time picking out their new t-shirt styles and wardrobe styling them with things from my closet. Artist driven company Ript Apparel makes unique limited edition graphics printed onto a variety of products, including posters and T-shirts. Every day they offer 3 designs to online shoppers starting at $14. In particular, the company offers  t-shirts in a variety of colors to choose from. In my free time, I like to find and sample different desserts. I also love to dress up to match the theme of where I'm going or eating. Therefore, I thought it would be a lot of fun to match my Ript Apparel t-shirts with the themed foods I try.

                                                              https://alnk.to/9miVlLi

The 1st of four t shirts that I selected is called The Hakuma Agumata women's premium in dark chocolate. I like that the artwork is a mash up of Digimon and the Lion King. I didn't have time to pick up a dessert that day, but it was a comfy style to wear to work in my parents' entertainment law office. I'll wear it again when I find another interesting themed dessert to try.

                                                               https://alnk.to/aAIeduV

The 2nd t-shirt is the Hello Dingus in Navy. I really enjoyed the aesthetic of the Scoops Ahoy store and sailor outfit from the Netflix show Stranger Things, so this was a fun graphic themed t-shirt to wear on a visit to the ice cream store where I found a stars, stripes, & sprinkles flavor.

                                                            https://alnk.to/87TCu5u

The 3rd t-shirt I chose is called the Sailor Meow premium t-shirt in white. I wore it to get a strawberry super moon donut because I thought it was an appropriate graphic that goes with the donut's celestial theme. I also think that the sailor scouts re imagined as cats is really kawaii.

                                                               https://alnk.to/eDLEMhR

The 4th t-shirt is called the Hazelnut Fusion women's in heavy gray. I thought this graphic was clever how they are demonstrating  nutella ingredients are fusing like they do in Dragon Ball Z to become extra powerful. I had a blast styling this t-shirt to match my nutella strawberry soufflĂ© cup dessert. Stay tuned for my next batch of Ript Apparel clothing items.

ZOMBIE CHASE GAME NIGHT : SPOOKY FUN BOARD GAMES WITH FAMILY & FRIENDS

Disclosure: I received PlayMonster games from Tryazon in order to facilitate this review. All opinions are my own. I may collect a share of sales from the links on this page if you decide to shop from them.

In keeping with the spirit of Halloween, I really enjoyed hosting a spooky fun board game night for my family & friends. Since I always serve a snack to my guests that go along with the theme of my party, I decided I would offer The Spengler Latte from Romancing the Bean CafĂ©. Since, its' Ghostbusters movie Halloween theme goes along with mine. The special latte was more than I hoped for, not only was it delicious, but it was just the perfect drink to perk up players to strategize.

What I liked about the Zombie Chase game is that it can be played as a cooperative group effort in order to escape the theme park, or players can try to turn their friends into zombies. My friends worked so well together to avoid us turning into zombies, that we successfully beat the game fairly quickly.

I  enjoyed how the game creates an exciting atmosphere, reminiscent of a Scooby Doo episode where they would go to a theme park and get chased by zombies. Just like how the Scooby gang worked as a unit to solve the mystery, the Zombie Chase game lends a similar air of mystery, fright, team work & fun all rolled into one.

Reign is the second game that we played. I think it is a unique, challenging, & complex board game. If you are playing with the maximum amount of players, it can take a very long time. I really liked the fact that the players get to set up the board the way they want, such as choosing the layout of the gems & picking where your clan members are positioned at the beginning of the game. This was not the case with Zombie Chase. In that game, the tokens must be set up on preset red spaces. It is also fun to put together the puzzle like board game pieces, but they are a bit tricky to place back in their box.

The object of the Reign game is to battle other clans. If you enjoy watching Netflix's Squid Game, you will probably enjoy playing this time sensitive battle royale style game. Since, Reign's objective to be the last remaining player is quite similar. I also found it interesting that unlike the typical board game which only allows players to make one move per turn, Reign allows players to perform several different things within their one turn.

Kids vs. Parents Board Game Day in the Park

Disclosure: I received SpinMaster games from Tryazon in order to facilitate this review. All opinions are my own. I may collect a share of sales from the links on this page if you decide to shop from them.

Because the weather was nice, I thought it would be fun to hang out with my parents & friends playing board games in a local park. I decided to divide us into kids vs. parents teams to go along with the theme of one of the five games I brought to review. It is called: Beat the Parents.

We began our board game day by playing Beat the Parents. If you are good at trivia, then you will probably enjoy this game. However, I found some of the questions were asked in a confusing manner. I thought the kids cards were mostly based on educational subjects taught in school such as science. On the other hand, the parents cards were mainly TV trivia questions. The most high stakes questions portion of the game was when players landed on a challenge. For example, I successfully removed a card from beneath the timer without it tipping over.

The second game is called Hedbanz Blast Off. We probably spent the most amount of time playing this game. It is familiar and easy to play because it is a guessing game. Although it is nerve racking & scary because it involves a timer & a card that you must wear on your head. It requires players to thread the timer through the headband and then place a card into the timer. I noticed that a large portion of the cards were sports equipment related, as I often found myself asking, am I a ball? I appreciated that there were pre-written questions provided, in case you couldn't quickly think of  one of your own, under the timer constraints.

Jumanji Deluxe is the name of the third game we played. If you are a fan of the original movie, then it is probably what you would expect the board game version to be like in real life. The electronic green dome is really cool! When you press it, that is where your questions & answers appear. I did find it odd that the answer was darkness three times, when there are so many more possibilities. Also, the soundtrack was super loud with no way to adjust the volume, so elephant noises & jungle drums filled the air which hopefully was not too disturbing to fellow park goers. Since it is a cooperative vs competitive game, it makes it a great game to play with your entire family.

The fourth game, Harry Potter Catch the Golden Snitch, is the most difficult game to figure out how to play in my experience. In fact, I'm not sure we were playing it correctly. I think it is supposed to mimic the chaos of how Quidditch is played, but the snitch is much easier to catch. Even though I had trouble trying to figure out my first time playing, I was really excited to try it out with my friends and family as I am a big Harry Potter fan. Thus, I would give it another chance just because I like anything Harry Potter themed.

Netflix Trending Now is the fifth & final game we played at the park. It is sort of similar to Apples to Apples, which is one of my favorite games to play with a group. If you are familiar with Netflix shows, then this game would also be fun. Since we did not have a lot of time left to spend outdoors as I had pre-ordered a delicious yuzu flavored kakigori at a nearby restaurant, it was the perfect game to end our parent vs kid game at the park day before dinnertime, as it was a quick game to play.

Hues and Cues: A Colorful Guessing Game

Disclosure: I received the Hues and Cues game for free, from Tryazon in order to facilitate this review. All opinions are my own. I may collect a share of sales from the links on this page if you decide to shop from them.

When you're searching in your game closet for a fun game to play with friends or family, Hues and Cues, is an excellent choice. Not only is it great for 3 players minimum to participate in, but also it is super simple to learn. In short,  the game is based around players giving each other clues where they must guess what a specific color coordinate is located on the board. There are two rounds for each clue giver. It was interesting to see how my friends' perceptions of colors were either different or the same as my own.  This made for some very funny moments  as we laughed at each others' clues. If you are a fan of guessing games like my friends and I are, then  you will likely find this game quite entertaining.

To add to the festive party atmosphere of your Hues and Cues game night, I highly suggest serving snacks that fit the theme of the colorful game board. Although there are many colors to choose from, I decided to create two colors based on the food coloring I already had in my kitchen baking supplies. These two choices represent G22 & N25 coordinates on the game board which it turns out are beautiful shades of teal and purple. Note that this was my first attempt at making homemade butter cream frosting.  I usually just buy canned readymade frosting, so I had no idea what it would turn out to be like making it from scratch. The directions were actually easy to follow, but I was surprised at how different the texture was any butter cream I had encountered before. Although it tasted yummy, it had a very interesting chunky appearance. In fact, my friend even commented on it's cool texture, and she wanted to know how I made it that way. My reply: no clue.

I used this recipe from Food.com for the cupcakes: https://www.food.com/recipe/yogurt-vanilla-cupcakes-w-chocolate-frosting-108558

21/2 cups flour

1 teaspoon baking powder & vanilla extract

1/2 teaspoon baking soda & salt

4 tablespoons softened butter

1 cup sugar

2 eggs

1 cup nonfat vanilla yogurt

Begin with the frosting to allow time for it to cool. Mix the sugar and cocoa together in a small saucepan. Add half of the milk, stirring constantly until blended. Then add the rest of the milk. Cook on medium heat until the mixture begins to boil. Lower heat and let simmer for a 3 minutes. Remove from heat and let cool for 3 minutes. Add the vanilla and chocolate chips, mixing until dissolved. Let cool at room temperature, or cover and refrigerate for future use. For the cake, preheat the oven to 350 degrees. Mix the flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt in a medium bowl. In a large bowl, mix the butter and sugar until well blended. Add the eggs to the butter/sugar mixture. Gradually add the flour mixture and yogurt to the butter/sugar mixture. Fill muffin molds 2/3 full and bake for about 20 minutes until it passes the clean toothpick test.

Frosting

Recipe provided by OP Games

1 cup  Room Temperature Butter

5 cups of Confectioner’s Sugar

¼ cup of Heavy Cream

2 teaspoons of pure vanilla extract

1 pinch of Salt

Beat butter until creamy. Make sure your butter is softened to room temperature before beginning. Use a hand or stand mixer to beat until smooth and creamy. Add sugar, cream, and vanilla extract. Beat on low speed until these ingredients are incorporated, then bump up the mixer to medium-high speed. At this point, you can add more confectioners’ sugar if the frosting is too thin or a splash of heavy cream if it’s too thick. Taste and salt. Add a pinch of salt to offset the sweetness.

HOURS OF FUN WITH PIXICADE MOBILE GAME MAKER

Disclosure: I received Pixicade for free from Tryazon in order to facilitate this review. All opinions are my own.

One of the things I enjoy doing during my free time is playing mobile games. I usually play alone,  but I also really like to play games with friends. Hence, I love that fact that Pixicade mobile game maker is a fun game that you can craft yourself or with your friends to create a one or multi-player game. Based on the three manuals that are included, you must draw the game on pieces of white printer paper you provide using the five different colored markers that come with the game. Each player then can play the one player game on their own device or share for the multiplayer one.

The first step to creating a game, is to chose from the categories that are offered in one of the three instruction books. These books serve as guides to help players draw their own unique game. The types of games that I created are the get the goals and the maze maker which are one player games. I also created a two player game from the paddle battle category. The second step involves  taking a photo of your drawing and putting it into the App. Once it is uploaded in the App., the third step is editing it until it becomes the exact game you had in mind. The fourth step requires you to attempt to beat your game in order to insure that it is actually playable. In the event that it is unbeatable, then you will have to tweak it in the App until it is. After you've beaten your game, the fifth and last step is to share your game with other players or try to play it yourself and beat your high score.

Additionally, I am wearing my own design. The Queenie4ever kids pink panda cupcake t-shirt that was exclusive to CheatDayLand in LA. There are still a few left in stock, so if you are interested in purchasing one of these t-shirts please send us an e-mail at info@queenie4ever.com for pricing and size information.

TASTE TESTING WILEY WALLABY LICORICE'S UNIQUE FLAVORS

Disclosure: I received Wiley Wallaby Licorice for free, from Tryazon in order to facilitate this review. All opinions are my own. I may collect a share of sales from the links on this page if you decide to shop from them.

One of my favorite things to do is taste new sweet  treats. So I like that Wiley Wallaby licorice offers a variety of interesting flavor combos, aside from the traditional ones, including Huckleberry. In comparison to the original red twizzlers, the Wiley Wallaby's licorice has a bolder flavor. For instance, the Huckleberry licorice tastes like a combo of  grapes and Knott's boysenberries. I was pleasantly surprised that all the Wiley Wallaby Licorices were soft and easy to chew,  unlike some traditional licorice. The bags are reclosable with a zipper, which is an added plus to keeping the candy fresh. This way  I can eat a handful and reseal it for later.

Because I like more distinct flavors, I really enjoyed  trying  "the sweet taste that's just ripe" strawberry organic bites and the tangy sourrageous drops. Thus, these two licorice products  are the standout flavors for my taste buds. Also, the organic ones are a thinner round small disk shape which makes it bite size and easy to just pop it in my mouth. The sourrageous drops are even smaller, almost minuscule, but they are packed with a lot of flavor. There are a wide variety of fun options so that even the pickiest eater will surely find the perfect flavor for their palate.

BOARD GAME NIGHT

Disclosure: I received Akibabus's The Witches Annual Race & Boxitale: Knight's of Nature for free from Tryazon in order to facilitate this review. All opinions are my own. I may collect a share of sales from the links on this page if you decide to shop from them.

The Witches Annual Race Board Game by Akibabus is best played with three people: One judge and two players. Each player is assigned two boards, placed side by side, to create a larger playing field. The main features of the game are a dry erase marker, used to draw your path in a variety of patterns, and a set of cards that direct you to complete tasks, in order to advance through a series of roadblocks. The objective is to finish the fastest in order to win against your opponent. I like how the cards also make it a game of chance. For instance, one card could allow you to advance very fast while another card drawn could make your opponent become stuck in another area. Thus, it combines a bit of luck for one player to win over another. This partial lack of control in the outcome, makes the game really exciting, as you continue drawing cards that could be your friend or foe. On the other hand, players have much more control over using the dry erase marker in determining the outcome. This game requires concentration, so it's best for someone who likes to play a game of wits.

The second game BoxiTale: Knights of Nature by Akibabus also requires concentration. However, it is more about playing at your own pace. Since, players are allowed to take their time to complete the tasks. Note that prior to starting the game, players need a device capable of downloading an App. This will instruct you to build the 3D game board and show the game itself. Basically, the game consists of watching a video in order to advance to the next step. In the video a robot instructs the players what to add to your game board through a series of tasks to complete such as what to object to construct, color, or puzzle to solve etc...  For example, it may tell you to build an origami boat or construct a ladder and then add those items to your game board. Next, players must photograph their completed project. There is no winner or loser. Being an only child, I really like this game because it is set up to be played solo or you could share half and half with one other person. I found Knights of Nature to be a unique immersive experience. I have never seen or played anything quite like it. The closest comparison would be if the PBS show Cyberchase which featured craft supplies that you could use to do whatever educational task they are doing.

A  fun board game night dessert I made was a cake inspired by The Witches Annual Race Game Board. I added several decorative ingredients. The White chocolate chips represented the boulders, the Golden Grahams appear to look like the witches' houses when placed on top of the cake, and the sparkler candles, when lit gave off a glow to imitate the teleport tunnel towers. It was a tasty & easy to bake treat that made my board game night extra special by giving it a magical and festive party atmosphere.

HOMEMADE JAPANESE MILK BREAD USING PDJW'S CYAN BAKING MOLD

Disclosure: I received the cyan baking mold for free from PDJW in order to facilitate this review. All opinions are my own. I may collect a share of sales from the link on this page if you decide to shop from them.

One of my hobbies is baking. In particular, I enjoy trying to recreate my favorite Japanese foods at home. Since I have never made bread before, I thought it was best to find an easy recipe with simple instructions for Japanese milk bread buns. This is one of  my favorite types of bread to eat with my dinner or as a grab and go snack. Typically this type of bread is thick and square shaped, but mine are thinner ovals. I recommend eating it with a bit of butter as it makes the bread more flavorful and soft. But, you can use  your favorite spread. I'm sure whatever you choose will be really delicious, as the plain bread by itself makes a good base for a variety of flavored toppings.

Using the Baking mold to make this recipe for Japanese milk bread was an easy process. After mixing all the ingredients together to make a big dough ball, I placed it in a covered bowl and let it rise in my oven that has not yet been heated for 2 hours. Since, the dough needs to rise in a warm dry place. Knead it again. Cut it into 8 balls and repeat the rising process. I had to be patient while waiting for the dough to rise twice for an additional hour. When the dough was finally ready to be added to the mold, I found it to be a simple task because I was able to gage the size of the dough needed to fill each individual section by eye balling if the dough ball would fit. I then shaped and pressed it into ovals until it filled the entire space. I correctly assumed it would hold the shape if I spread it out evenly. The bread dough rose and spread out to fill the space making little loaves. As an added bonus, it made my house smell like a bakery when I opened the oven to remove the pan.

The silicone material made this a light weight and flexible mold to work with. I made sure to use two oven mitts to handle it, keep it steady. This way I did not burn my hands and I had a good grip on the edges. Also, silicone is supposed to be nonstick. However, I decided to grease it using a little vegetable oil. But, it probably would have been fine without. I was able to cleanly pop out the 8 mini loaves of milk bread using the pink spatula from PDJW. Lastly, I like that the color is bright enough to easily spot in a dark cupboard. Besides, bright cheerful colors make me feel happy & excited to bake.

The recipe is from YouTube user HowTasty. I think the measurements may vary slightly in the video, which is what I followed.

Ingredients: Makes 12 medium size milk rolls

70 g (1/3 cup - 70 ml)

Milk, lukewarm 30 g (2 tablespoons - 35 ml)

Water, lukewarm 3-4 g (about 1 teaspoon)

Active Dry Yeast 30 g (2 tablespoons)

Unsalted Butter, melted 30 g (about 1/2)

Egg, beaten: set aside the leftover egg for brushing the top. 220-230 g (1 3/4 cups)

All Purpose Flour 3 g (1/2 teaspoon)

Salt 20 g (1 1/2 tablespoons) Sugar

For topping: Egg, beaten (the leftover of the egg that you use for the dough) 20 g (about 1 tablespoon)

unsalted butter, cubed

Directions: In a small size bowl, pour water and milk and add the dry yeast: mix until dissolves. In a big size bowl mix the dry ingredients: flour, salt and sugar. In the yeast mix add beaten egg and melted butter and mix. Add the yeast mix to the flour mix and combine with a spatula until well combined and get a little sticky dough (not too wet)* *NOTE: The consistency of your dough may vary depending of your flour. If your dough seems too wet, you can add up to 1-3 tbsp more flour until the dough comes together; if it seems too dry, you can add up to 1-2 tablespoons of milk. Sprinkle with a little flour (not use too much flour!) a surface and knead the dough for 10 minutes and make it round. You'll get a soft, smooth, elastic and not sticky dough.
